Mail Server Username: your email address
Password: the password your where sent or you set if you created the email account in CPanel.
Normal Incoming/Outgoing Mail Servers
Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourdomain (server requires authentication) port 25
SSL Incoming/Outgoing Mail Servers
Incoming Mail Server: (SSL) jdhale.ezywebsolutions.co.uk
Outgoing Mail Server: (SSL) jdhale.ezywebsolutions.co.uk (server requires authentication) port 465
* Mac Mail IMAP Note: The "IMAP Path Prefix" needs to be set to INBOX otherwise Mail.app will not be able to store deleted, draft or sent mail on the server.
IMAP or SMTP/POP?
IMAP stores your emails on the web server, so that you can access emails you have previously read and emails that you have sent from any other computer. It does not offer contact/address book synchronising or calendar synchronising; shared diary etc... if you need this level of functionality you will need exchange server instead.
POP/SMTP allows you to access your emails from your computer and download them to your computer; similar to IMAP you can leave your emails on the web server; however it does not allow you to leave sent email on the server or organise your messages into folders. You can still organise your messages into folders on your computer however, but then you cannot synchronise them with the email server.
I Wish the Server had this Feature
If there is a feature or facility you would like; just ask us. It may be that it is simply a feature that is currently deactivated. If the feature can be easily activated, does not cause any major server performance issues, make the server unstable, poss a security risk, degrade other users experience or does not imposs a significant licence fee then we will be happy to enable it. For example we recently enabled the GD Library and IonCube for some of our clients to meet their web hosting needs.
Content Management Systems (CMS) and Blogs
You can install a CMS on our servers, we have currently tested CMS Made Simple, Joomla 1.5, WordPress and Drupel. We regretably do not have any self install scripts; however we are happy carryout a basic installation for free. Once installed you will need to tweak settings to your own needs and make other customisations. If you are looking for help in developing a CMS site we provide a Web Design Service, but additional charges apply.
Common requirements:
- GD Library = Yes
- IonCube = Yes
- Database = Depends on package
- Apache mod_rewrite() = Yes
- Remote Connections = Yes
- Built in FTP and Unpacking tools = Yes
- PHP = 5.2.5
- MySQL = 5.0.51a
IMPORTANT
Remember that whilst you are installing a CMS the server is at increased risk; please remember to remove the installation folder and restore the security settings of other folders as detailed in the CMS/Blog installation guide. Failure to do this will place the server at increased risk from crackers and other types of attack.
Buying Hosting
Currently just send us an email describing your intentions for the account, if you require us to acquire a domain name for you and what the domain name is. We will offer you a package, if you are happy to proceed we will set the hosting up for you to use. We will the send you an invoice that is payable within 30 days of the payment due date. You can pay by credit/debit card, paypal or cheque.
Customers who have previously failed to pay for a service on time may be require to pay for the service before it is activated.
I Changed my Mind
If you change your mind within 14 days of purchasing a hosting package, we will be happy to refund your hosting fee - we cannot however refund domain name registration fees or SSL Certificate Fees and these will be deducted from your refund. The domain name can however have its IPS tag changed so you can use it in the future with us or another hosting provider; most SSL Certificates can also be transferred.
How do I add additional features to my account?
Some features need to be activated before you can use them; such as the guest book feature (there is no charge for activating a feature). If you need a feature that is only available by upgrading your account we will inform you, eg if you have the basic hosting but would like a database adding to your account. To do either of these just email or call us and we will add the feature, usually straight away.
I want to cancel my hosting?
We can stop your hosting on the date you specify providing it is not a date in the past. If we have provided the domain name we are happy to chance the IPS tag so that you can take your domain name to your new host. We will also refund any remaining time to you, eg if you are 183 days through your hosting and you are paying £49.50pa we will refund you £24.75. The only exception is where the hosting is provided for free such as the first year hosting provided for a web design, in which case no refund would be available whilst the hosting is being provided for free or complimentary.
I am due to renew my renewal, but I do not wish to continue with my hosting?
Just let us know that you wish your hosting to end at the end of of your current subscription. If your domain name is due for renewal we will let you know and you can decide if you wish us to renew it or let it expire. If we renew a domain name when you are closing your account we will ask for payment for the domain name renewal.
I have let my renewal expire and do not wish to renew it?
Providing you let us know that you do not wish to renew your subscription within 60 days of the payment due date, we will cancel your subscription. If you fail to notify us within this period, you will be recorded as a none paying/late paying customer. This would mean that you may have to pay for any of our service before they are set-up in future.
Late Payment
We allow up to 30 days from the due date on the invoice for you to pay for your hosting, after this your account may be suspended. After a further 30 days your account will be terminated and all web pages, emails and other information stored on our servers deleted. In special circumstances we may extend these periods to allow you to continue to use the service until funds become available.
If payment is received whilst the account is suspended it will be re-activated once the funds have cleared. If payment is received after the account is terminated we will be happy to create a new account for you, unfortunately you will need to re-upload your website.
